Fair trade is an organized social movement and market-based approach
to alleviating global poverty and promoting sustainability.
The movement advocates the payment of a fair price as well as social
and environmental standards in areas related to the production of
a wide variety of goods. It focuses in particular on exports from
developing countries to developed countries, most notably handicrafts.
Fair Earth lives up to this mission of "Fair Trade" to the truest sense of the word,
most notably through the persistent efforts, commitment to the cause and vision of the owner of this venture. By shopping
on this site not only do you experience the beauty of Africa and its wonderful handicrafts, you also
touch the lives of the artisans in a positive way.

I have for the last 2 years and a half provided logistics support for Fair Earth here in Kenya and thus worked directly with Holly.
Holly is extremely enterprising, very honest in her business dealings and amazingly creative as evidenced by her works. But even more impressive is Holly’s
commitment to fair trade. Throughout our dealings Holly has insisted on dealing with disadvantaged groups and that they get their fair share of business proceeds.
Towards this she recently made a trip to Kenya and Uganda to develop and strengthen relationships with the artists and it was awesome to see her spend extra money
and time to ensure that her sales impact the artists and particularly the disadvantaged ones.

When I was introduced to Fair Earth and its mission, I was
blown away. I could immediately tell that Holly, the owner,
truly and deeply cared about what she
did. What is truly remarkable is that she has a personal relationship
with every one of her artisans, and works out a fair wage with
each one. I am very proud to now be a part of Fair Earth
and its mission.
